Grandparents day celebration

Grandparents day was celebrated on the 1st of October . Renowned writer, Sri. C Radhakrishnan was the guest of honour. The grandparents of six  students from Std I were invited and honored by performing  ‘Paada Pooja’.  



Climate Change

Our school hosted a two day seminar on ‘Climate Change’ organized by Devecha Centre for Climate Change , Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore,  in association with Edu World Foundation and Talentspire Intelligent Learning . Eminent speakers like Prof. M C Dathan , Scientific Advisor to Chief Minister, Kerala and Former Director of  VSSC,  Prof. S K Satheesh , Chairman , Devecha Centre for Climate Change , Prof. J Srinivasan , Former Chairman , Devecha Centre for Climate Change  and Prof. K Mohan Kumar , Department of Atmospheric Science, CUSAT  interacted with the students . Around 1200 students from different schools participated in the seminar



Kerala Piravi Celebrations

In connection with Kerala Piravi Day, Mudiyettu-a traditional art form of Kerala, was performed in the campus by Keezhillam Unnikrishnan and Team.



World Environment Day

The students and the staff of Bhavans Vidya Mandir, Elamakkara observed World Environment Day 2018 on 5th June 2018. The chief guest for the day was Dr Venu G Nair, eminent meteorologist and scientist in atmospheric sciences. He urged the students to listen to Nature’s call and act wisely to protect and create awareness about the emerging environmental issues and the need to take action to preserve Mother Earth for the future generations to survive. Chief guest Dr Venu G Nair planted a sapling of jackfruit, to mark the occasion. Principal Smt Sunitha S and Vice Principal Smt Mini K presided over the function.



Awakened Citizen Programme

A workshop on ‘Awakened Citizen Programme’ on 13th   and 14th June 2018.

A workshop on ‘Awakened Citizen Programme’ was held in our school on 13th   and 14th June 2018. It was organized by Ramakrishna Mission, New Delhi. The programme was inaugurated by Swami Shanthatmananda. The resource persons were from Ramakrishna Mission and the aim of the workshop was to promote value education among school children.



International Day of Yoga

The fourth International day of Yoga was duly  celebrated on 21st June 2018. The activities started with a message about Yoga and its relevance from the yoga teacher Mrs Suseela Gopinathan followed by a Yoga display . There was a guided meditation session for all the students, Yoga practice by students and NCC candidates and a yoga practice session for the teachers.



Ramayana Week

The auspicious month of  Karkidakom is welcomed at school every year with a week-long celebration. A spirit of piety enables students to imbibe the values upheld in the Ramayana. Highlight of the week’s celebration includes Ramayana parayana  by representatives of different houses, various competitions like identifying the characters from Ramayana, storytelling based on Ramayana, drawing and colouring, Ramayana Quiz, Ramayana speech, house wise Bhajan  and skit competitions on Ramayana  .Bhajans by teachers and various houses  also add glory to the celebration .




Students offer salutations  to their teachers to acknowledge the contribution of their teachers as desller of darkness, where ‘gu’ stood for darkness or ignorance  and ‘ru’ for its remover. Thus, a guru takes his disciples  from darkness to light.




Navarathri celebration was held at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, T D Road on 10th October. The school celebrated Navarathri days staging various dance and music programmes.



Teachers Day

In connection with the Teacher’s day, ‘Gurudakshina’ was offered to teachers by the students of classes X & XII.
Ms Smitha Jayaraj, teacher, Department of Hindi, delivered a speech on the importance of the day.
