World Post Office day 2020
Bhavan’sVidya Mandir, Elamakkara celebrated World Post Office day virtually on 9th October 2020 in an effort to enliven this medium of interpersonal communication. The Celebration was aimed at reconnecting the future generation to the living heritage - Indian Postal System.
The programme consisted of a video presentation dedicated to the Indian Postal System with an introductory speech by Parvathy of class 10. Later Ms.Aswathy, Marketing Executive, Ernakulam Post Office, spoke on the significance of the day and about the other services provided by the system like Philatelic Deposit Account for those who have the hobby of stamp collection, My Stamp facility, Saving Schemes, Payment Banks, GDS services in 990 Mail Vans all over the country and India Post ATMs in more than 500 locations throughout the country. She urged the students to visit the local post office some day after the pandemic is all over. Apart from this two students each from classes III - V were asked to speak on the importance of the day during the morning assembly. In conclusion a PPT Presentation Competition on ‘The history of the Indian Postal System and its relevance today’ was conducted for students from classes VI - IX.
