A cordial welcome to everyone present here today.
The past year has been an inspiring journey—one filled with challenges embraced, opportunities explored, and achievements celebrated. This academic year stands out as a period of growth and excellence, marked by remarkable academic results, noteworthy accomplishments in co-curricular arenas, and impactful community outreach initiatives. As we pause and turn back to take a look at the year gone by, I feel immensely delighted and privileged to have a handful of yet another bunch of beautiful memories and proud moments to present before this elite gathering in the form of the annual report 2025. This report surely represents the reflection of the journey of Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir Elamakkara during the academic year 2025-26.

ABOUT THE SCHOOL

Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Elamakkara is a beacon of growth and progress, continually setting higher benchmarks and pursuing them with unwavering determination and passion. Catering to more than 3200 students, the school has on its rolls 168 teaching and 55 non-teaching staff members and pursues a holistic approach of education in grooming the skills and talents of students.
New Asst Vice Principal Takes Over:
On 1st June 2025, Smt. Jyothirmayee P assumed charge as the Assistant Vice Principal of Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Elamakkara, bringing with her a commitment to academic excellence and holistic development.
The School Library, affiliated with the National Virtual Library of India, houses an impressive collection of 18177 books, with new titles added annually.
The Atal Tinkering Lab stands as a dynamic centre for experiential learning, nurturing innovation, creativity, and problem-solving skills among students through engaging, hands-on experiences.
The Resource Room, supported by five specially trained teachers, provides individualized guidance to nearly 100 students, fostering their academic growth and overall development.
The school is supported by two skilled counselors who provide dedicated guidance to address the emotional and academic needs of students. Our school is also an accredited centre of NIOS - National Institute of Open Schooling with a strength of 61 students from classes IX to XII. The National Cadet Corps (NCC) at our school continues to flourish with the active participation of 49 cadets, including 34 boys and 15 girls. Their dedication to discipline, leadership, and service to the nation greatly enriches the school’s vibrant and value-driven environment.Our school band also adds pride and prestige through their spirited performances on various ceremonial occasions.
The institution maintains active units of Scouts, Guides, and Bulbuls, which play a significant role in fostering discipline, moral values, and leadership qualities among students.
The PTA Executive Committee for the academic year was formed with Smt. Srividya TA as the President. The committee remains proactive, collaborating constructively with the school to support its initiatives and growth.

THE SCHOOL PARLIAMENT
The Investiture Ceremony for the academic year was conducted in June, marking the official induction of the newly elected Prefectorial Board of the School Parliament.
HOUSE ACTIVITIES Throughout the academic year, a wide range of house activities were conducted to nurture teamwork, leadership, creativity, and sportsmanship among students. Inter-house competitions were organised across cultural, literary, and sports domains, providing every learner with opportunities to discover and showcase their talents.
SCHOOL CLUBS School clubs offer a dynamic platform for students to discover, develop, and showcase their talents. The inauguration of the club was done by the renowned playback singer and our proud alumna, Mr. Tansen Berney.

INTERACT CLUB
The Installation Ceremony of the Interact Club of our school, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Cochin East, was held, during which Gokul R. Kamath was installed as the President.

SEED CLUB
The SEED Club remained committed to social welfare and environmental sustainability throughout the academic year, fostering values of empathy and responsible citizenship among students. The noteworthy initiatives like Changathikkoru Thai initiative ,collection drive of old clothes along with their donation to Kuttikuppayam and Kapharnam Orphanage,newspapers for needy students reflected the club’s continued dedication to support the community and promote greener practices under the guidance of Smt Susheela Gopinathan and Smt Tessy S John.

SCOUTS GUIDES, BULBULS
The Scouts of Bhavan’s Elamakkara observed Gandhi Jayanthi by planting a symbolic “Gandhi Thengu” coconut sapling, honouring the values of Mahatma Gandhi and promoting environmental responsibility. As part of the Anti-Drug Awareness Campaign, Bulbul children created impactful posters, pledged to remain drug-free, and presented awareness songs, thereby instilling strong values and spreading awareness among young learners.
As part of the Snehadaram initiative, Onam gifts were distributed to the support staff as a heartfelt gesture of gratitude and appreciation for their dedicated service. This thoughtful act highlighted their invaluable contribution to the smooth functioning of the school and reflected our commitment to nurturing a culture of care, respect, and inclusivity within the campus community.

ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENTS
The stellar performance of our students in the CBSE Board Examination added immense pride to the school. In Std X, of the 249 students who appeared for the SSE 2024-2025, 95.98 % secured distinction and 37 achieved A1 in all subjects. Laya Nixon and Neeraja P Nair emerged as the school toppers with an exceptional score of 496/500.
In Std XII, among the 193 students who appeared for the SSCE 2024-2025, 94.3% secured distinction and 60 earned A1 in all subjects. Vismaya KR and Agraja PB, the Science stream toppers, secured 99.6%, while Aparna Rayaroth led the Commerce stream with 99.8%, and Moksha R Rao topped the Humanities stream with 99.4%.

SCHOOL ACHIEVEMENTS

  • Our school was honoured with the prestigious Kulapati Munshi Award for Best School 2024 by Shikshan Bharati, Mumbai, in recognition of our commitment to excellence in education and holistic development. 
  • The school was also bestowed with the esteemed Haritha Vidyalayam Award by the Haritha Keralam Mission for its sustained efforts in promoting environmental awareness and green initiatives on our campus.Our school received the Certificate of Excellence in the P.T. Thomas Educational Excellence Award 2025 for achieving 100% results in both the Std. X and XII Board Examinations (2024–2025), and was also honoured by the Corporation of Cochin for securing a 100% pass in both the examinations.
  • Acknowledging our strong commitment to sustainability, our school was recognized for excellence in waste management at the ‘Vrithi’ event. Representing our institution, Smt. Susheela Gopinathan and Smt. Tessy S. John attended VRUTHI 2025: The Clean Kerala Conclave.
  • Our school proudly received a certificate for upholding green protocol practices and ensuring a zero-plastic campus. In the All Kerala Bhavan’s Cultural Fest – 2025, conducted across various Bhavan’s institutions, our students showcased exceptional talent in a wide range of competitions. With outstanding achievements across various categories, our school emerged first runners up in categories III, IV, and V, and the Overall First Runners-up of the prestigious cultural fest in Category I-IV and Category I-V. Our students showcased outstanding talent and dedication by excelling in multiple events at both the district and state levels of the CBSE Sahodaya Cultural Competitions, bringing immense pride and honour to our institution
  • .Our Under-19 Boys Football Team emerged victorious in the CBSE Cluster XI Football Championship and qualified for the National level held at People’s Public School, Bhopal.
  • In the Custer XI Athletics Meet 2025 our team emerged overall second Runner Up in the U14 category. Our athletes delivered an outstanding performance, securing top positions in multiple field events such as Javelin Throw, Discus Throw, and Shotput across various age categories. Demonstrating remarkable strength and determination, several of our participants also earned qualification for the Nationals, bringing great pride to our school.
  • In the Ernakulam District Athletic Meet we secured 2nd runner-up position in the U14 girls category. Our students showcased impressive sporting skills, achieving top positions in Javelin Throw and High Jump. Their dedication and outstanding performances added yet another proud moment to our school’s athletic achievements.
  • The 41st Dr. KM Munshi Memorial Inter-school Athletic Meet 2025 became a proud moment for our school as our young athletes performed remarkably well in a wide range of events including long jump, high jump, discus throw, javelin, shot put, and relay. Their participation was marked by skill, determination, and sportsmanship.
  • Our Under 19 Boys Team secured third place in the CBSE Cluster XI Volleyball Championship. Our school won the Ever-Rolling Trophy at the 44th Ernakulam District Yogasana Championship.
  • Our students performed exceptionally well and secured various prizes in the Interschool competition Labyrinth Obscura 2025 and emerged as overall champions.
  • Our students have also exhibited excellent performances in Shrusti Yuktara 2025, Magnum Opus Velantra 2025 and Krithi Artora 2025. ACHIEVEMENTS OF TEACHERS
  • Smt Mini Menon won the Professional Excellence Award instituted by the Commerce Teachers’ Forum.
  • Smt Parvathy Balakrishnan was awarded a cash prize of ?10,000 in recognition of her mentorship and dedicated training for the SBI Quiz team.
  • Smt Jayasree L and Smt Cismi Poulose secured the Second Prize at the Thejoganitham Action Research Presentation held at Bhavan’s Munshi Vidyashram, demonstrating exemplary research skills and teamwork.
  • At Abhiruchi 2025, the Annual Teachers’ Conclave themed “TEACH 360°: The Complete Classroom Innovation Challenge,” Smt. Gayathri K and Smt. Deepthi Devadas of Bhavan’s Bala Mandir, Elamakkara, secured the Third Prize in the Foundational Stage.
  • Smt Reshmi V R. received the Warrant as the Guide Captain and Smt Chippy Praveen received the Warrant appointing her as Flock Leader of the 24th EKM Guide Group, Ernakulam Area, under the District Association of the Kerala State Bharat Scouts and Guides.

STUDENT ACHIEVEMENTS

  • Nandana S, Keerthana Krishnamohan and Swetha K won the prestigious Shri KM Munshi Pratibha Scholarship award instituted by Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s ,Shikshan Bharati,Mumbai.
  • Niranjan Sekhar Anoop qualified the All Kerala Deen Dayal Sparsh Yojana Scholarship Examination conducted by the Postal Department and received a cash prize of 6000.
  • Gautham Ganesh was selected as one of the six guest editors for The Hindu Young World representing Kerala and his article was featured in the Children's Day edition.
  • Anvi Abhilash secured second rank in the 17th SMA Abacus National Talent Examination.
  • Dilan Dawn received the Award of Recognition for his exemplary scores in the National Spot 100 by the Vikram Sarabhai Science Foundation.
  • Sidharth Pandalai won the Best Boy Cadet Award by Sea Cadet Corps.
  • Our students successfully completed the 8-week IIT Madras School Connect Certification Course and received their certificates. This experience provided them with valuable exposure to higher learning.
  • Krishna Somanath Bhat was awarded the title of Best Heritage Club Student 2024–25.
  • Ishaan R Menon, Padmamalini K A, Krishna A Bhat, Varsha Rajesh and Keerthana Krishnamohan won the Third position & a cash prize in the All Kerala Inter Bhavan’s Physics Fest 2025 – IGNITIA Project Presentation Competition held at BVB Perumthiruthi.
  • Sarang L. V. and Sreenandana S. J. brought laurels to the school by winning prizes in Sanskrit Recitation and Gita Chanting competitions conducted by various prestigious institutions.
  • Padmamalini K A secured the first prize and a cash prize worth rupees 25,000 in the letter writing competition conducted by the Postal Department. In recognition of her remarkable achievement, the Postal Department issued a commemorative stamp featuring her photograph.
  • Jathin Raghav won the First Prize in the Essay Writing Competition organized by the Kochi Municipal Corporation as part of UNEP’s “Generation Restoration” initiative.

ACHIEVEMENTS IN QUIZ

  • Sunandh P Menon won the Himalayan National Topper prize at the VVM National Level Camp, receiving a Rs.15,000 cash award, a one-year Bhasker Scholarship, 1–3 week internship in Mumbai, and an opportunity to visit eight national institutes, including IIT Bombay.He is also the first prize winner of the prestigious MKK Nair Memorial Talent Search Examination winning a cash prize of Rs 15000.
  • Rishabh Vinod emerged as the Second Topper in the South Zone,VVM National Camp and received a cash award.
  • Keerthana Krishnamohan and Niranjan Sekhar secured the third position in the National Intach Heritage Quiz 2025, and Keerthana further achieved the third runner-up position in the Siddharth Memorial Quiz held at Amber Valley Residential School, Chikmagalur.
  • Aman B. Manoj and Sarang L V won the First Prize in the Aqua Regia School Quiz at the Bengaluru Regional Level competition.
  • Our sharp quizzers brought great pride to the school as Aman B. Manoj, Sarang L V, Rishabh Vinod, Dilan Dawn, Niranjan Sekhar Anoop,Ishan R. Menon, Akshay Narayanan, Raghav Nithin Gopinathan, Keerthana Krishnamohan, Advaith Subramani Anand, Pranav Santosh,Krishnaprasad S, Krishna J Menon, Tejus KV, Sreehari E A, Davis S George, Gokul R Kammath ,Govind R Kammath,Nandana Pramod, Arnav Rahul and many more secured prizes in prestigious competitions such as the Inquizit Quiz, NIT Maths Quiz, INDICA Quiz, Brain Hunt Quiz, Puranava Quiz, ATTOMOS Quiz, Mariamma Memorial Quiz, Hortus Balarama Digest Quiz, Commerce Quiz,Rotary Quiz, Nelson Memorial Quiz, FISAT SiQuest 3.0 Quiz, BIS Wiz Quiz, SBI Scholar Quiz, Brain Blitz Quiz, Superknowa Quiz and many other prestigious ones.

ACHIEVEMENTS IN MUN                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   The school held the Installation Ceremony of the Secretary General and the Office-Bearers of DE LEGATUS, the MUN Club.
Our students have also won various titles in the Intra and Inter school level MUN competitions.A noteworthy one being Harinee R Gireesh winning the Verbal Mention and a Cash prize in the Model German Parliament held at Green Valley International School, Trivandrum.

ACHIEVEMENTS IN SPORTS AND GAMES

  • Advaith Shinod was selected to the Ernakulam District Junior Team as Vice Captain for the 50th Junior Inter District State Tournament organised by the Ernakulam District Football Association. 
  • Our students actively participated in various martial arts competitions, including Taekwondo and Karate events like Kumite and Kata, showcasing remarkable skill and determination.
  • Nidhi B Nair won the First Prize in the Yonex-Sunrise All Kerala State Sub Junior Badminton Championship. She also emerged U11 Girls Singles Winner and U13 Girls Singles Second Runners-up at the Yonex Sunrise P. K. Gopan Memorial All Kerala Sub Junior Ranking Tournament 2025.
  • Anav Vibin secured first position in the Under 14 Shotput in the Ernakulam District Athletic Meet 2025.
  • Ananya B Menon secured the title of Promising Player in the Superslam Volleyball Tournament.

YOGA
Our students demonstrated exemplary prowess in yogasana, achieving outstanding results at prestigious district, state, national, and international championships. Their commendable performances, particularly by Agney C R, Deepika Pramod, Nandana R R, Advika R Prabhu, and Sidharth Utham, in esteemed competitions including the State Yogasana Championship, Asia Pacific Yogasana Sports Championship, and District Yogasana Championships, brought immense pride and honour to the school.


COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROGRAMMES
As part of the Sahapadi initiative, study materials were distributed to the underprivileged children of GHSS, Elamakkara, reaffirming its commitment to supporting education for all.
Students of the school visited the Government Hospital, Ernakulam, as part of the Onam food kit distribution initiative “Chinganilavu”. The visit reflected the school’s commitment to social responsibility and community service.A team of SEED Club members and teachers visited Government GGHSS, Ernakulam. The club contributed organic soil and slurry prepared by the students, supporting the establishment of their vegetable garden and promoting sustainable cultivation practices. As part of the Anti-Drugs Campaign, the NCC Unit of the school organized a Cycle Rally to raise awareness among students and the public about the harmful effects of drug abuse.
The Rotary Club of Cochin East, in collaboration with our school, organized a book donation campaign titled “Gift of Reading” as part of Rotary District 3205’s Unite for Good – Harmony initiative.

TEACHER EMPOWERMENT

  • Principal Smt Mini K attended the Sixteenth All India Conference of Bhavan’s Principals of Secondary and Senior secondary schools organized by the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Amritsar kendra.
  • Apart from this she attended 16th All Kerala CBSE Principals' Conference and Training held at the Gokulam Park Convention Centre, Kochi,
  • Vice Principal Smt Bindu MR attended a two day Experiential workshop for Education Leaders-Dishari-Know your way to show the way under Kochi Sahodaya in association with RESORCIO.
  • A professional development session for the teachers of the Department of English from our sister institutions under Kochi Kendra was conducted at our school.The session was led by Mr. Royce Robert Horak, an experienced ESL and Business English instructor, counsellor, and mentor.
  • Our Principal, Vice Principal, and teachers took part in diverse workshops, webinars, training programmes, and capacity-building initiatives to enhance professional competency and support holistic student development. The insights gained from these platforms were thoughtfully applied in our classrooms, resulting in improved student engagement, greater academic rigour, and strengthened overall institutional excellence.

ENRICHMENT ACTIVITIES FOR HOLISTIC DEVELOPMENT

The Annual Comprehensive Evaluation (Shikshan Bharati) for the scholastic and co-scholastic domains for the academic year 2025–26 was conducted on August 20th and 21st under the guidance of Smt. Sukumari Menon, Education Officer, Shikshan Bharati. Throughout the academic year, the school gracefully observed a variety of significant occasions as per the institutional calendar, celebrating each with dignity and vibrant student participation. Skits, dances, speeches, and other creative presentations enriched these observances, promoting cultural appreciation, national pride, and shared values within the school community. To promote experiential learning and strengthen practical skills and real-life problem-solving abilities, Bagless Day was observed for students of Classes I to VIII. Edu Sports, introduced for classes I-V, promotes holistic development by integrating sports with learning to strengthen mental, behavioral, and physical skills. It seamlessly brings structured sports into the school setting, enhancing physical fitness, mental well-being, and essential life skills. A fire rescue and evacuation mock drill was organised for our students to help them understand safety procedures and respond effectively during emergencies. One-day learning trips were organized for students to various places, carefully chosen to suit their age and academic requirements.

EVENTS HOSTED BY OUR SCHOOL

The school conducted Praveshanotsavam that marked the delightful beginning of classes for std I.Vidya Vandika 2025, the annual award ceremony to honour students for their outstanding performance in the SSE and SSCE examinations, was conducted with great pride and enthusiasm. The Chief Guest, Hon’ble Justice Devan Ramachandran, presented the prestigious awards to the achievers.
The Suguma Hindi Pareeksha Prize Distribution was held in the school auditorium. The Chief Guest of the event was Justice Devan Ramachandran.
The Intra-School Competition Pratheeksha-Vedika was held during the academic year, offering a range of events that enabled students to showcase their talents and express their creativity across diverse platforms.
The school hosted the two day CBSE Capacity Building Programme for Teachers on Strengthening Assessment and Evaluation Practices.
In continuation of the school’s efforts to uphold and promote India’s classical art forms, a distinguished Koodiyattam performance was conducted in the school in connection with Kerala Piravi. Organised in collaboration with Rangadhwani – A Centre of Expertise for Koodiyattam.
The SAFAL exam was conducted for grade VI and IX to assess students' foundational skills and competency-based learning in a diagnostic manner.
Various Olympiads were conducted in the school to promote critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Open House sessions held during various terms and the Annual Medical Check-up were also integral components of the school’s routine academic and welfare activities.

NEW INITIATIVES

The Speaking Club – MIC MASTERS was officially launched in the school. The event marked the beginning of the club’s activities aimed at enhancing students’ communication and public speaking skills.
EDUELEVATE initiative by the The Interact Club members of the school offer one-to-one support to students who need help with English Language skills, promoting effective peer learning.A group of 18 students from Std. VIII, IX, and XI, accompanied by teachers Tessy S. John and Anjeesh U, attended the five-day Nature Camp in the month of November at the Bhavan’s Adventure Centre, Mumbai.

BEOSA
BEOSA THIRIKE 2025 was successfully held at Radisson Blu, Kadavanthara, on 12th July 2025.The highlight was the launch of BEOSA Porattam, an Anti-drug initiative, inaugurated by Justice Devan Ramachandran of the Kerala High Court.

MOTIVATIONAL TALKS AND SESSIONS

An interactive session with Justice Devan Ramachandran was held at the High Court of Kerala for the std XII students of Humanities and Legal Studies.
Our students participated in a variety of informative and enriching sessions throughout the academic year, including
- a session on “Mathematics for Senior Secondary Students” was handled by Dr. Rosemary Bailey, Emeritus Professor, University of St. Andrews, UK.
-an awareness session in connection with the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking was addressed by Shri Babu John P, Sub Inspector of Police.
-A motivational programme arranged by PTA on “Overcoming Exam Stress” by certified life coach Mr. Manjush N. M
- An online session on “Introduction to AI & Robotics” by Prof. Teena Hassan from Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University, was conducted for the students.
-A seminar on “The Legal Pillars of Commerce: Contracts, IP & Torts” by Adv. Sreekala Vivek provided valuable insights into commercial law.
- talk on World Heart Day by Cardiologist Dr. Saritha Sekhar,
-an interactive session by renowned author and poet Shri Madhu Kuttemperoor in connection with the Reading Month
- a session in connection with International Yoga Day s by Smt. Ayisha Almaas P. A.
-Selected students attended a TIE Kerala programme,
--A seminar on “Introduction to Nanoscience and Molecular Medicine” was led by Dr. Dhanya Narayanan,
-Participants represented the school at the Kerala Innovation Festival at KSUM, Kalamassery,
-attended a Career Guidance Session on Design and Creativity conducted by AAFD INDIA.
-A session for students of Std XI and XII Science stream by our Alumna Ms. Niranjana Subrahmanian, CUSAT, Integrated MSc First Rank holder who was privileged to be a part of the meeting attended by Nobel Laureates in Germany.
-Students further engaged in “Amruth Samvaad,” an interactive session with South Railway Station officers in collaboration with the Rotary Club,
-participated in “Secure Bytes 3.0,” a Cybersecurity Awareness Session at Bhavan’s Munshi Vidyashram, Tripunithura.
Students also represented the school in notable external events, including
-the Second Anniversary of the Council for Community Co-operation, featuring a keynote address by Dr. Shashi Tharoor. &
- International Conclave on Environment (AURA 2K25)
The JOTA–JOTI Programme was held at the District Hub, Ernakulam, with 22 students from Classes VI and VIII participating along with the Students of Scouts and Guides wing of our school attended the JOTA–JOTI Programme held at the District Hub, Ernakulam.
Our students also broadened their horizons through enriching camp experiences — RYLA Camp, Vidyodaya Cap and Patrol Leaders’ Camp

INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT
Building constructions and renovations
The school celebrated a major milestone with the inauguration of its newly constructed school building, the Lilavati Munshi Block The building was inaugurated by CA Venugopal C. Govind, Chairman, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Kochi Kendra, in the presence of Shri E. Ramankutty, Director, along with other esteemed members of the Kendra Committee.
The newly completed three-storeyed block features 15 spacious classrooms, including state-of-the-art smart classrooms, reinforcing the school’s commitment to providing enhanced learning facilities. Phase II, designed to connect the Tagore and Munshi Blocks, is presently in progress.
