Students of Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Elamakkara celebrated World Literacy Day through virtual assembly on 8^th September. Vansika M of Std V recited the poem ‘ Ullunaran’ by Sri. Edappal C Subramanian and Shreya of std VI recited the  poem ‘Amma Malayalam’ written by Sri. Kureeppuzha Sreekumar. The day’s programme helped the students to explore how literacy can contribute to build a solid foundation for a human-centered recovery, giving  special focus on the interplay of literacy and digital skills required by non-literate youth and adults. Samwrita Warrier of Std VIII anchored the programme and reminded the students of the great role played by Karthyayani Amma, at the age of 96 who becomes the Commonwealth of Learning Goodwill ambassador.
