Our country observed the 73rd  Republic Day on January 26 to reassure the spirit of secular India. The day marks a remembrance to the brave men and women who toiled, fought and sacrificed their lives for the freedom of our great nation. The students and the staff of Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Elamakkara celebrated the day virtually with great pride, spirit and passion towards our homeland. The programme commenced at 9.30am and presented the flag hoisting  video by Smt. Sreejyothi N, Vice Principal, held at school. Ann Mary of Std XI anchored the programme. Students of the school choir led by Varada S and Poornima Manoj of Std VII presented a patriotic song that brought out the national spirit of patriotism in everyone. Susani S Nair, Teacher, Department of Social Science delivered a speech reminiscing  India’s cultural abilities and social heritage.Student representative in each class spoke on the day’s importance. The programme reminded us of the historical speech ‘Tryst with Destiny’ made by our first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and the role of a true Indian by words and deeds.
